So much that women now out number men in universities. Women also work and have stable paying jobs.
Women are more and more starting to become more then what society portrays them to be.
Law states that “woman's life is valued only half as much as a man's life."
Women before the revolution were subjected to lives that were sheltered and isolated. Women barely had any rights and there husband made most of there decisions for them. Some women no nothing other then living there lives up under a man because most of there lives they have been told what to do by a male figure, and they pass those same type of thoughts down to there children and grandchildren. Not all women want change either some women are just fine with how things in Iran are going.
In most situations in marriage the man controls divorce, inheritance, custody, and health insurance. And domestic violence goes unpunished because of the law that states a women's testimony is worth only half as much as a men's in the eye's of the law. But what baffles me is that in the quran it states [3:195] Their Lord responded to them: "I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female - you are equal to one another." I know that in Islam religion is a big part of how they do things so why is that the quran stated women and men are equal, but women don't have any equal rights like a man?
The Women Have A Voice now in Iran they protest and they demand freedom. They freedom to work, go to school, and dress however they want to. They want the government to come to a realization that women and men are just as equal."Iranian women are very powerful and they want their freedom," said one woman in Tehran. Small groups of women protesting have influnced more and more women to become involved in the movement for change.
